'Tirra' is a nice sandal

By Moving Right Along

from Bronx, NY

About Me Casual/ Recreational

Pros

  • Absorbs Shock
  • Attractive Design
  • Comfortable
  • Durable
  • Lightweight

Cons

  • Narrow / Tight

Best Uses

  • Pavement
  • Walking
  • Wet Weather

Comments about Tirra:

A nice sandal. I just wore them this a.m. as the month of June is now moving right along. It's a very nice day; I wore them without socks because the 'Tirra' might be a tad narrow/tight. I have another/older pair I am able to wear with a light sock. In any event the 'Tirra' did just fine out there and probably will be able to even take a light rain.

Great Hiking Sandals

By BJ

from Fort Myers, FL

About Me Casual/ Recreational

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • Durable
  • Lightweight

Cons

    Best Uses

    • Trail Running
    • Wet Weather

    Comments about Tirra:

I hiked in the North Carolina mountains with these sandals and they were terrific. It was by accident that I used my sandals. My intention was to change to my gym shoes once I got on the mountain. But, I forgot to put those shoes in the car. These shoes handled the steep trails well and worked wonders having to go thru wet muck. I was so worried I ruined my shoes. But, by the end of the day and they dry, clean and looked great.

      Comments about Tirra:

Though my Tirra's were a gift, I could see myself buying a pair. Another color would be nice ;)
I wanted something that could be worn for lots of walking, easy trail hikes, something that could get wet but still not look too rugged and bulky. That's a lot to expect in one shoe but when traveling, I was hoping not to pack so many pairs of shoes.
I'm pleased with how comfortable they are. The "break-in" time or rubbing was minimal and they fit my boney feet and ankles pretty well as I'm less active now but kept the runners skinny feet. They felt true to size. I can't give an accurate review on the arch support because I've had flat feet since childhood however my knees felt no issues while wearing. They held up with walking, getting wet and even the velcro closure stayed put. I did not do any running in these and it's too early to tell how long the velcro closure will last. (The only reason for leaving out one star)
For versatility, they functioned as a light hiking sandal but were cute enough to wear with a casual summer dress or shorts with a blouse on the beach. Win!

        Q:

My foot is about 10 inches long and 4 inches wide. What size should I consider for the Tirra? Would the regular-width version fit me, or does Teva make a Wide version of the Tirra?

          A:

We would recommend a size 9.5 in this style. All of our women's styles are made in a "B" width, and this style has adjustable straps for a customized fit.

        Q:

Does this sandal have some type of antibacterial material in the footbed to help control foot odor? This problem is mentioned in several of the reviews.

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

Our sandals are treated with Microban zinc (Triclosan-free!) to reduce bacterial growth. This product is most effective when it is occasionally exposed to sunlight. 15 minutes of exposure should be sufficient, we do not recommend longer than this at one time as it can be damaging to the sandals. To clean the sandals we recommend scrubbing the topsole with an antibacterial soap using a soft bristled brush to remove any dirt from the grooves. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry.
