I have a big foot (size 11), plantar fascitis and achilles tendon problems. Doctor tells me to wear a sturdy heel of about 2" till the achilles issue is resolved, but at my size, it's tough to find a comfortable shoe with a sturdy heel. THEN I make arrangements to go on a cruise and I really do NOT want to spent the entire time either in pain or wearing some old clog, and I go shopping. I saw this and realized it was the perfect option. The velcro strap is adjustible to deal with my very high instep. The heel is the right height, and it is pretty. I couldn't beleive it was Teva, because I've had Teva water and hiking sandals before, and they were pretty in their own way, pretty for hiking shoes, but never something I'd wear for everyday shopping, sightseeing, etc. I was thrilled to find this shoe and worried it might not feel good, since I do not know Teva to make comfortable shoes with heels. But I was wrong to worry. They worked well for nearly every purpose... not so good for work for me (I'm an attorney and need closed-foot pump type shoes for work), and not exactly formal evening-wear shoes, but I tell you, after the main part of the evening is over, I took off the gold sequinned heels and put ON these, and no one even noticed! They're not so good for dancing, because the sole is very rubbery and sticks to the floor as you try to twirl. But they're GREAT for stability, walking on slippery or difficult surfaces.... and not so bad for the "athletic" activity of running to catch a cab. Though I'd not want to run a marathon in these. I want Teva to know that there are many, many women out here who cannot wear pretty shoes, but still want to be able to dress up from time to time. We're not ready for a wheelchair, but our docs tell us that if we don't wear sturdier shoes, we'll be getting the wheelchairs sooner. We want pretty shoes. And this is a start. I see you have some flip-flops with sequins on them... what would be so wrong with putting some sequins on a few of these? Fluffing up the exterior of the wedge to make it prettier? Don't get me wrong, these are the prettiest of the shoes I have to choose from (and those gold sequinned sandals are going to disappear from my wardrobe if my husband has anything to say about it... he wants me to follow the doc's orders so that I have the healthy feet and save the foot-strength for climbing pyramids in my old age rather than ruining my feet by tottering around on structurally inappropriate footwear)... and this is MUCH better than my mother had to choose from (bless her soul)... she would wear Nikes to formal events for about a decade before she passed, because she really could not get around on pretty shoes at all, any more. And if that is my fate, I am thrilled that these are around becuase I'm sure that she WOULD have been able to get around in these. But I hope you tkae the happiness that most of us have with this shoe, and understand that we REALLY, REALLY want MORE of them. More heels, more variety of heels... you have done an amazing thing to make a heel, and a sandal in a heel, COMFORTABLE. Keep going!

I found this sandal at a local DSW - liked it so much and could not get another pair locally so I went on line to TEVA to get another pair.
