A lot of people ask why we named our original rubber compound after one of the creepiest creatures on the planet. In response, we ask them if they’ve ever seen a cute puppy climb up a completely vertical, soaking wet rock. No? We rest our case.

    Comments about Northwater:

I am a normal size 12B and have mail-ordered shoes successfully for many years. This shoe is definitely a "short" size 12. I had to return it because there were no larger sizes...very disappointing.

    Great, but needs adjustable strap.

    Pros

    • Breathable
    • Comfortable
    • Cute

    Cons

    • Strap not adjustable

    Best Uses

      Comments about Northwater:

I wanted these because I like the lightness and breathability of thin-soled sandals, but most close-toed varieties are clunky and stiff. These are flexible and comfortable, and seem like they'll be more durable than expensive barefoot brands.

Lack of an adjustable strap is the only negative, though it's a big one. I end up having to strap it around the back of the ankle instead of over the top of the foot.

          Q:

I have a very wide foot and have trouble finding shoes with a wide enough toe box for them to fit comfortably. Also, if I am wearing a 9.5 in skechers, would I also wear a 9.5 in this shoe? Thanks.

            A:

All of our women's product comes in a Medium B width. If you have a wide fit, we would suggest a 1/2 size up.

          Q:

Can the strap be moved/pivoted to the back of the shoe or better yet, removed/snapped off entirely? Is the strap even adjustable?

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

Yes, you can strap them around the back but it doesn’t actually loop under. The strap does come un-done on one side, not both sides.
