    Comments about Hurricane XLT:

Have a narrow (61/2 AAA) foot. Would love to be able to buy in a narrow. The product offers wonderful support for walking long hours while traveling. Only had to buy a new pair because I stepped in a puddle of tar in Eastern Turkey with my last pair and had to replace.

    Comments about Hurricane XLT:

Bought these for shorter walks as an alternative to walking shoes/hikers. The ring caused blisters and the ball of my foot got a blister. I tried adjusting the strap numerous times. Can't understand how these got high reviews.

    Comments about Hurricane XLT:

I bought my first pair for a trip to the Galapagos and they were perfect for slippery rocks and landings onto beaches or wet surfaces. I have bunions and soon found these to be the most comfortable shoes or sandals I had and so I wore them EVERYWHERE, using socks if it was cold, but they are the first shoes into my suitcase no matter where I go,or else they are on my feet wherever I go. We travel a lot and it is not uncommon to hike or walk in the city for 5 to 10 miles. The arch provides good support and my feet are always comfortable. I just bought my third pair, the coral rocks cut up the front of the first pair and they became ragged-looking. With the second pair I think I stepped on some sharp object because they began to leak water up through the soles, so I immediately bought another pair. My only complaint is that if they are worn on loose sand, the sand gets into the stap attachments and then gives up that sand for a LONG time. I wash them after beach use, being careful to submerge the attachment points so that the sand can float out and this helps but they still retain some, so I prefer to just take them off at the beach so I can preserve them for all other times. I feel they are a little too bulky to wear with dress clothes but I wear them with everything else, they allow my feet to breathe and yet the front construction protects my toes. Wonderful!

      Q:

I have a pair of old 1999 Teva sandals that look very similar to the Hurricane XLTs. After 15 years of wear they're finally falling apart :( so I'm hoping to replace them but the sizing chart is a little different.

The tag on my old shoes says US 7, UK 5.5, EU 38.5 and the sizing chart for women's on your site says US 7.5, UK 5.5. etc. Since these old ones are slightly on the small side I thought I'd ask what size you would recommend. I imagine a 7 would still be the best fit since there's no half size?

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

The Hurricane XLT runs large. If you are in between sizes, we recommend ordering the 1/2 size down in this particular style. A size 7 would be recommend for you.

I have a 3year old pair of these and they are beginning to have an odor which causes me not to wear them. I have a freind with the same problem.

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

We recommend using mild soap and water, please do not machine wash. Also try scrubbing the top sole with a soft bristled brush while cleaning and gently bending the sandal from heel to toe under water pressure so that any dirt in the grooves of the top sole will wash away. Another option for killing bacteria is to place the sandals in a sealable freezer bag with baking soda and freeze them overnight.
