Hi there!

I'm a new owner of Teva shoes: I have my lovely Kayenta sandals and they can be with me for pleasure, for walking, for being in Parawaiting while the wind comes for my paraglider's flight; for being dressed with a beautiful dress, and so on so on...Can you feel my hapiness in this foto? I'm far away from home, in a espectacular view over a vulcan's cratere, in Açores, Lagoa das Sete Cidades.

12 year old Tevas

Hi there!

Thought I'd share a fun story about my husband Michael and his very adored Teva's that he picked up over 12 years ago from REI. Michael and his sandals have been around the globe; Europe, Asia/Pacific rim, Australia, Sorth and South America and hopefully they'll keep together for a trip to South Africa next year for the world cup! He loves the outdoors and has put his Teva’s to the test...from riding horse back in china to many hikes on all types of terrain; through water -- salt and fresh, has been to many beaches and through jungle areas of the world. He has had to minor repair them a couple of times but is so amazed at how long he's worn them and how incredibly durable they are. Here's a photo, taken this last weekend of his Teva’s at our sons baseball game in 100 degree weather!

Hurricane Katrina

July 24th

Hello,

With the 4 year anniversary of hurricane Katrina coming up I began to think about how I was able to ride the storm and subsequent flood out with no real problems, other than loosing my home to the water. On the morning that the hurricane hit New Orleans, I was dressed in a pair of shorts, tee-shirt, and my Teva sandals.

The flood water hit and within 90 minutes or so I had 5 feet of water in my living room (see pics). I escaped that evening when I believed it was no longer feasible to stay at my house with only a pillow case full of some clothes and my cat in a Nautica gym bag. I was evacuated to the Louisiana Superdome, but since they would not allow me access with my cat, I turned around from the entrance and proceeded to walk 5 miles through flood water up past to my waist to a friend's house who was lucky enough not to have been flooded out. Over the next seven days I made my way around the city, most of the time in waist deep or higher water, climbing over every type of debris and obstacle that you can imagine. The entire time I was doing this I was wearing the only pair shoes I still owned at the moment, my Teva sandals.

I have to say that my Teva sandals were truly remarkable in how they handle the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. They were comfortable and secure and gave me traction to deal with every type of terrain I encountered, and believe me, there was all types. They were soaked in every type of nasty water and other muck but after some rising off and drying in the sunlight, they were ready for another day's exploring.

I still have the pair I wore over the week I stayed in New Orleans after the flood. I eventually evacuated the city after a week in the ruins of the city but I am back now, in a rebuilt house, and feeling a lot better. I just wanted you to know how incredibly impressed I am with your product. The Teva sandals I wore, and still do, performed remarkably well and kept me gong in the most rugged of circumstances imaginable. Believe me, with hurricane season coming around again this year (and every year) I will be sure to know where my Teva's are before any possible weather emergency occurs.

Please don't change the strength and durability of your fine product.

Sincerely,

Robert Dixey

I've been wearing Teva's since I saw them in a bicycling magazine in 1991 and had to drive 45 minutes to a specialty shoe store to get them. Big Teva fan, thanks!

Dear Teva

July 24th

My name is Carrie Faulkner and I am the proud mom of 4 children. I just want to thank you and TEVA for helping us save our son Campbell. Last year on January 2, 2008 my mom passed away from breast cancer and one of her wishes was that we take a family trip every year with my dad. She was worried that he would be lonely and she also wanted him to stay active in the grandkids lives. One of her favorite ways to spend time with her grandkids was on vacation. She said “family trips are memories that will stay with your children long after they have left you”. So with her words in my head and heart we decided to come to Colorado. My father has always wanted to explore Colorado, and we also decide to come in early June because it was his first anniversary without my mom and they would have celebrated 46 years of marriage. So when we arrived at our hotel, we asked the manager about what is going on in Vail and he told us about the TEVA games. So Saturday morning we rounded up the troops my 4 kids, my dad, and my sister her husband and 2 kids and came to the TEVA games. What a blast! My children loved to watch the bouldering competition, kayak tricks and especially the 8 ball races. What we did not expect was that the TEVA games were going to bring our 2 year old autistic son back to us. Campbell was born on March 13, 2006 and due to immuzations our son stopped talking (babbling), crawling, and trying to walk. He was classified as failure to thrive and autistic. During the months after his diagnosis we did lots of therapy and put him on gluten free/ dairy free diet. None of the therapy could come close to the help that we received from the different vendors at the games. LARABAR gave us 89 sample bars that we fed him exclusively during the trip. GNC gave us fish oil/omega 3(orange chews) that we gave Campbell to help feed his brain. We saw these amazing swings in your tent that would help him with his sensory issues. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for bringing Campbell back to us. I just want you to know that your games have helped our family so much. During the time that we stayed in the hotel Campbell started to talk. He said his first 4 word sentence “woo woo bite knee”. He was watching the movie “Island Princess” with his sister. My whole family witnessed our TEVA game miracle. We erupted with such joy that you would have thought he just won the world cup of bouldering competition. So again thank you for all your help you not only help the physically fit but you also help the special needs. Campbell thanks you and so do I. You are his angel. We will try to come to see you again. Just recently Campbell has been given a new hurdle to overcome. His neurologist through a blood test and urine test found that he not only has the autism but he has muscular disorder which could be Muscular Dystrophy. So please keep him in your prayers as we prepare to undergo more testing. The doctor and therapist can’t believe that he his doing so well. His progress is attributed to the therapy and diet he is on. His health care provider’s believe that he has almost recovered from autism. I apologize for being so long winded but wanted to share a little insight into the emotions I was feeling when we met at the TEVA games this year. It was an overwhelming experience for me as a mom to return to the games and find the same support and generosity of the vendors that I received the year before even when meeting a host of new people. Thanks again and I hope to see you next year!

Sincerely,

Carrie Faulkner
