Running in my Teva Dozers

Steven Wade

June 27th

My name is Steven Wade and I am a triathlete who resides in Burlington, Wa. At the 2007 USAT Regional Championships in Federal Way, Wa. I did the run portion of the race in my Teva's. I had forgotten to pack my racing flats, so it was the Tevas or barefoot. I ended up posting a 37:25 10k split. I had owned the shoes for approx. a month before the race, but had never run in them before. I took the time to put on a pair of socks to prevent blisters and the photo that was taken during the run didn't come out too dorky looking. No blisters or hot spots!!! I have attached a copy of that photo.

I would recommend your product because of the durability and versatility.

Sincerely,

Steven G. Wade

Generations of Tevas

Jessica Ritchie

I don't really have a cool travel story like some of the others I've read on the website. But, I had to share this photo with your company to show my appreciation for your sandals. My father has been wearing Tevas since they were introduced and he swears by them. And, I knew I met my perfect match when I looked in my future husband's closet and found multiple pairs of Tevas (after all, you can tell a lot about guy from the shoes he wears).

Our beautiful son, Colin, was born this past September, and of course my father had to buy him his first set of Tevas. Earlier this summer we took a trip to the New Jersey shore (not exotic, but still lots of fun). My father snapped this shot on the patio. I think it's representative of the kind of lessons we wish to teach our son-take a fun trip each year, find time to play in the sand...and wear comfortable shoes along the way.

All the best,

Jessica Ritchie

Thanks for a great product

I've been a proud owner of Teva sandals since I was introduced to them in 1995 while I was stationed overseas in the US Navy. Since then, I owned both your Terradatyl and Terrafi sandals. Every time I pack a bag, I make sure I have my Teva sandals with me. My Tevas have done it all, from painting houses to hiking Mount St Helens to ocean kayaking in the UK.

This last trip, I was in Western Africa, unfortunately, this was my final trip with my Terria-Fi sandals. They had served me well, and it was time to retire them (sadly) and go and get a new set since I had literally walked off the soles.

So yesterday I went and bought my 3rd pair of sandals, Gandolf (Drew) Grey Terra-Fi. I just wanted to drop you a line and say, that for 13 years and having been around the world 3 times, and I never leave home without your sandals. That, to me, says you've got the planets most amazing sandals; which is why I can't live without my Tevas.

Your friend,

Anna Pilette

PS-I was at REI yesterday when I was looking at my new Terra-Fi sandals when I got asked about your product. I told him the same thing I told you. He ended up in line behind me; he bought 2 pair of Tevas.

I am a 56 yr old die hard Birkenstock wearer for over 30 years. I have a short story for you which you may use in your marketing if you wish. (I also have nice looking feet. HA!)

For the past 4 yrs I have suffered from Acute Plantar Faciatis. At the same time I started wearing a really good tennis show for my walking. Prior I had done all my walking in my Birk's. After many years of excruciating pain and barely being able to walk because of the plantar faciatis I went to a Podiatrist who fit me for orthodics. I went thru everything and tried everything including the foot splints, physical therapy, cortisone shots, and buying new shoes every 3 months. The orthodics are so expensive I could only get 1 pair which are always in my shoes for work. (Iam on my feet all day) Sooooooo.......I have been wearing the only other shoes that felt comfortable to me when not working meaning my Birk's and my Clark's.

Long story short.....after about a year the cortisone started to wear off and I have been in pain again. My orthodics are great for work but my Birks were failing me (at least that is the way I felt). I saw a shoe similar to the ones I bought last week recently and went to Cabellas to see what was available. You see, I figured if I could find a sandal type shoe with partial closure I could wear my insoles with it.

I was hurting so bad slowly walking into Cabellas (Grand Forks, ND) wearing my Birk's and when I saw the name Teva (a name I am familiar with) I stopped and saw the shoes I now have. I put the sandals on walked around the store a few steps and instantly had NO PAIN in my plantar faciatis. I was hooked and bought them on the spot. I told the guy at the register if he ever told anyone I gave up my Birk's for another shoe and put them in the Teva box I would deny it. He looked at me a little weird having no idea what I was saying.

You see, I am a survivor of the 60"s/70's who even raised her child on Birk's and would never have considered another sandal. I am also a person who was living in Flagstaff, AZ and aware of Teva before it became popular but didn't do much rafting at the time and thought that was the only thing they were good for.

I am sold on Teva and my Birk's haven't been used since. I walk 2 or 3 times a week and Bike the same.

My Teva's are at my door where my Birk's use to be.

I love my deep brown suede Teva's. They are worth the $60.00 I paid for them. I will definitely purchase more. I have been spreading the word.

Thank you.

Eulogy for my trusted companions

Dave

After many years of faithful service, my beloved Tevas have passed on. I don't even remember what they were called. The sandals were black with black straps and buckles. I bought them in Massachusetts in '96 or '97 when I worked for a mountain sports chain. Today, June 12 of 2008, the left sole developed a fatal tear. They will carry me no farther.

My friends laughed, when I bought them; called me a fool for spending eighty dollars on a pair of sandals, but after those sandals survived almost twelve years of everything I could put them through, I stand vindicated. Faithfully they carried me from Maine to Florida, out to Arizona and Utah, braving swamps, deserts, and mountains. In my trusted sandals I traversed rocks, cliffs, rivers both wild and sluggish. I don't know what to do with them now. It seems wrong to merely toss them in the trash. I think that I will find a scenic spot in the Everglades and leave them there, a gift to the gods of travelers and of the wild places.

Camp shoes to Hiking "boots"

Anna Galentine

June 10th

So the plan was to hike the Gems route in the Grand Canyon. The hike starts at the South Bass Trailhead, which itself is many miles on a dirt road to the edge of the canyon. Once down on the Tonto level you head east, crossing several canyons with names such as Ruby, Sapphire, Agate, Turqoise, etc.

Our group arrived in the afternoon at the South Bass TH on 4/8/08 and 3 people left to do the shuttle, leaving those left behind, alone with no car and many miles from the camper store. I take out my previously well-worn and comfortable boots as it was getting a little chilly. Seven months before they had been wet and dried out by the fire many times on an Alaskan river trip and had thus shrunk at least 2 sizes too small even though I was sure I had worn them until they were dry and still fit. It hurt to even squeeze my feet in my boots.

My 'around camp' shoes that I was taking on the trip were my old Tevas and they became my primary hiking shoes for the Gems with thick hiking socks. Foolhardy with wobbly ankles, I didn't want to miss the last major portion of Tonto trail I had not done. Two weeks before, the toe section of the sole had separated from the top and I superglued it back together. They performed wonderfully on a week-long private trip on the Upper Salt River. And two days after the river trip they went into the Grand Canyon and held together for the whole six-day backpacking trip.

I was also not the only person wearing Tevas on this hike so I felt inspired. Other than a little tenderness in the soles of my feet after the long exit day going from Boucher Creek to Waldron Trailhead, it was probably the best my feet have ever felt backpacking.

I can't thank you enough for making such a well-made shoe. They lasted with a 30-40 pound pack stretching and pounding and scratching down slot canyons in search of ways to the river. They look exactly the same as they did before the hike.

Attached is a picture of those puppies at Yuma Point. My feet were happy as clams.

Thanks,

Anna Galentine

Original Elixir Die-Hard Fan

June 5th

I am a huge fan of the ORIGINAL Elixir. You can not go to a single room in our home without finding a pair of these things lying around. When I found out they were about to be discontinued a few years ago I literally scoured the internet and bought the last 10 pairs of size 13's. Now my wife tried them on after me wearing them for years and loves them. The new sole of the Elixir 5 is not the same as the nice comfy original Elixir. I have searched the Web for the originals and can not find them anywhere. Do you all have any or the originals in a dusty old section of your warehouse that we could dig out and buy for a die-hard fan. I have owned easily 20 pairs of these things and gone all over the world in them from Paris streets to hiking in rainforests. I'm down to 3 pairs left. Any help would be appreciated as we just do not like the new ones at all.

Thanks,

Ray Bonis
