On behalf of the Mesa County Search & Rescue Ground Team, I want to personally thank you for your support and sponsorship for our major fundraiser in 2007 - The Alpine Bank Mary's Loop & Kokopelli Classic Trail Runs. We surpassed our projected goal by nearly double thanks to you and your overwhelming donation. Once again, thank you for keeping our team well equipped, well trained and safe in the field. We had an awesome turnout of runners and Randy was a seriously fun guy!
Thank you again to TEVA.
Happy Holidays from our family to yours.
Sincerely,
Robb Reece

3-day 60-mile walk in 10 year old teva's

November 19th
Hello teva folks,
I have an old pair of teva's, at least 12 years old with a broken plastic 'V' strap connector at the ankle, and just finished a 3-day 60-mile walk and three months of training in them!
I decided to do the walk last January in San Diego and figured I had lots of time before I needed to get serious about it. In July my only sister passed away in her 40's of hep c/porto pulmonary tension (not breast cancer) and even though we knew it was coming, it hit me harder than I had ever imagined. I was overwhelmed with grief I thought I was prepared for and crying numerous times a day, as a strong, confident woman who owns her own company I knew that time would make it better, but how much time?
So I began my training in August and walked in her honor and realized just before the walk that I had gone a couple weeks without shedding a tear, being able to transfer my grief into something to honor her was just what I needed to get over the hump, walking in the beautiful red rock area with amazingly inspirational women, many older than me and some survivors of breast cancer, was great medicine. I hadn't enjoyed red rock, which is right in my back yard, for more than 15 years. The walk raised more than $12 million, our team almost $50K and little ol' me over $12K, you could say I am proud!!
I tried to find a good walking sandal to train in and walk in as I was not willing to lose a toenail and have all this goodness come down to months of staring at a toe with no nail, I had to keep the goodness flowing upward!!! I tried bites, cheng shui, mbt, nike, everything and none of it worked for me for a variety of reasons and most of them customer service related, believe it or not!! I was happy to spend over $200 on shoes if they would have been right, but none of them fit the bill. I got a pair of back up teva's (never thought to go online and order better suited sandals as I have now seen on your site and will get for next year, I am already registered for 2008!) which I was scared to break in as doing that with the nikes caused blisters that lasted for weeks in the middle of my training, so I kept training in my old teva's (which I had not worn much for almost a decade, they had just been sitting in my closet, I am now a big flip flop girl which explains not being willing to lose a to enail!) many of my fellow walkers during training and the walk were incredulous that I was wearing teva's and couldn't believe they would get me to the end, but they did!!!
If you should want to sponsor me in the 2008 walk by providing me sandals, I will donate the cost of them to the walk on my personal page, just a thought. Truly wanted to share the story, whether you donated or not, thought it was cool. Out of almost 5000 walkers in San Diego, I think I was the only one in tevas, did not see anyone else, that is for sure!
Go to www.the3day.org if you want to check out the walk, if you know of other teva wearers who walk in these walks for breast cancer, I would love to be connected to them, please let me know. I am now your unofficial 'teva queen' of the San Diego 3 Day, even if self-appointed!

I am a TEVA freak -- Breast Cancer 3 Day

Dear Teva,
Teva FreakBought my first pair of Teva's many yrs ago and they are still here today.I am a TEVA freak and wanted to let you know that I will be participating in my 5th 60 mile 3 day walk for breast Cancer this weekend in San Diego wearing my TEVA's of course. I am a 12 yr stage 4 breast cancer survivor and have participated in 5 of the 3 Day Breast Cancer 60 mile walks to date, the latest just ended yesterday Sunday 11NOV07. I have walked each event in my Teva's and would never think of another shoe for this event. We walk in all types of weather, in sand, dirt, pavement, grass, hills, flats etc. So Teva's are the natural choice for me. They have great support and allow my feet to breath. The neoprene is key and is what keeps my feet comfortable. I saw only 2 others in Tevas but others saw mine and are going to train in them for next year. I hope more people try them as I am sure they will fare much better in the blister department.
Have hiked 22 miles in the volcanic rock that fills the crater of Haleakala on Maui in the same Teva's that have done all five 60 mile walks. They are amazing shoes. My Teva's have been all over the world as I am an International flight attendant and tend to adventure out beyond the hotel in most cases. Jungle walks, river rafting, hiking of course and sailing the Caribbean, Belize, Greek Islands and Tahiti all with my Teva's. They are a 'NO GO' item as we call it in the airline business .....cannot go without em. Thank you Teva for making my adventurous like that much more comfortable.
Sincerely, Lisa Anderson
