12 Years

I bought my Teva sandals in eastern Tennessee in 1995. My girlfriend's dad asked me at that time, "Why are you spending $40 on a pair of sandals???" Those sandals have been the only things on my feet for about five months a year for the past 12 summers. Let's see, if I wore 'em for 12/hrs a day, that's over 20,000 hours on one pair of sandals! Eight trips to southern China, trekking through innumerable bamboo forests, too many rivers and music festivals across the western US to count, hiking, biking, stumbling, running and stopping all on the same two soles. Not a bad $40.

Slowly, slowly the sandals have died; the "river rubber" wore through and finally so did the bottoms of the nylon straps holding my toes in place no more. Twelve years! Man, that's a lot of my life right there, I want to go burry these things or something. I think Teva should have a sandal Hall of Fame at their headquarters where they can display some of these old beaters as well as some of the more storied sandals that have carried amazing bodies around this world of ours. I'd have sent mine to Teva if I could have found their mailing address but no such luck. Maybe I'll just send them to 'ol granddad in Tennessee

Thank you very much. These sandals truly rocked my world. I'm on a new pair of Hurricanes now, waiting to wear those soles smooth.

Volterra-Alps

Dan Judd

August 30th

Dear Folks at Teva.

I have been wearing Alp sandals since I bought my first pair at a drop zone in Byron California (SKYDIVE BYRON) in 1987. I loved them, bought a new pair whenever I could. That was before they were Teva. Back then, it took a while to "Break In" new alps, but once done they were the most comfortable and secure sandal I had found. Jumped out of airplanes with them. I was saddened when Teva bought out the small Alps company and then discontinued their production. I recently purchased a pair of Voltera-Alps for both my Wife and I (your reintroduced version) .After wearing you new improved (re-engineered) Alps, I felt compelled to write. From the first moment your new Voltera Alps fit like "Home". Very comfortable and secure. No break-in needed. They feel better than I imagined. The Alp strap system is still the most secure , in my estimation, and your improvement in comfort pads and tread design make them the most suitable for intense outdoor activity (trail running, kayaking) as well as just knocking around. You have truly perfected this design. Can't say enough. Please continue this line. The strapping system is by far the most secure. Your improvements are nothing short of excellent.

Thanks again.

Sincerely, Dan Judd

PS: I will be buying extra pairs in for to hedge against a shortage.

Teva Rocks

Some runs mean more than others. This was one of those runs.

It was mid-August and we headed out for our first trail run at Dothat State Park at about 10 PM. My trusty headlamp and Teva X1's were my equipment. Leaving camp, we headed up Tobacco Ridge Trail.

This trail headed straight up from the start. The terrain was typical Virgina shale, which made footing treachorous. Add in twisted, exposed roots and dampness from the high humidity and you have one tough run! Oh, did I mention the fog was so thick that my headlamps light was rendered useless beyond 3 feet or so?

Tobacco Ridge is pretty short, but nonetheless intense. From here we connected to Blue Suck Falls Trail. Well, if we thought our previous trail was hard, our night had just begun. In place of the sharp shale and exposed roots was large talus-field type rocks. Most people would have turned back, some would have walked on, but we are Teva runners, so we ran. Picking our way up the steep slope, hopping from rock to rock, we made our way to the falls and crossed the creek. Our feet were soaked, not from the water, but from sweat!

We continued on a side mountain trail that was relatively benign compaired to our first few miles. This one was tight single track and fast! We were finally running at a decent pace. After a good mile of this beautiful, serene night running on this quiet trail it was time to head off the mountain. If our Teva's were important on the run up the mountain, they would be deemed necessary for our safety on the way down.

As the crazy runners we pride ourselves to be, we did not let the terrain slow us down. Trusting your shoe really helps! After about 3 miles of steep downhill running through all sorts of terrain, we made it back to camp.

A decade in Tevas

Markus Martin

My name is Markus, I'm a commercial paleontologist. I have owned the same pair of Teva sandals for a decade now! In the summer I wear them everyday, including fossil expeditions.

I'm amazed at the longevity!

My husband and I have been wearing your shoes for about 10 years now, and LOVE them. They are the most comfortable pair of footwear made. We travel a lot and wear Teva's to every excursion we go on.

Thanks for such a great and durable product.

Not for hippies anymore!

For years I thought Tevas were just "hippie shoes". Now I am a convert. I wear them just about every day in my home town of San Francisco. If it's cold, I just put on some socks. I first bought them a year ago when my family and I went to Boulder Creek, CA. It was so hot we wanted to swim in the creek but it was too rocky to swim barefoot. I tried wading in my cheap flip flops but I kept slipping. Worried that I would twist my ankle, we drove into Santa Cruz to buy some proper sandals. I found some Tevas with cool orange and yellow flowers on them. I dubbed them my "creek shoes" but they have come to be so much more than that. They are my urban hiking shoes, my shopping shoes, my running after my kid shoes, and my driving shoes. I even wear them with a skirt. Yesterday I completed a 6 hour hike through Big Basin State Park, from park headquarters to Berry Creek Falls and back, in my Tevas. That may not seem like such a long hike to some, but I am a city girl. I was so glad I was not wearing stiff hiking boots, and that my feet and ankles were free to scramble up the side of the waterfall. I do not have a single blister and my ankles and shins are not sore at all today. I will be doing more long hikes in my Tevas in the future!

Thanks for a great product

well worth the money

TEVA! GO TEVA!

David Turner

August 14th

In 2003, I purchased my very first TEVA sandals. I quickly became addicted to their comfort and great looks.

And after 4 years of wearing my TEVA sandals, I purchased 2 more TEVA sandals to begin my very own TEVA collection. TEVA sandals have become my primary shoe of choice. And after wearing my TEVA sandals loyally for 4 years now, I just about refuse to compromise my looks and comfort to anything else.

For me, it's TEVA! GO TEVA!

Nine months pregnant

Kim Applegate

August 9th

I am nine months pregnant with my second child. With my first, I had severe back pain as soon as I started to gain weight. It was miserable, I hated being pregnant. After my first child was born, my husband saw a clearance rack at Kame's in North Canton, OH, and they were clearing out the prior seasons Olowahu Flip Flops. He came home with three pair. At that time, I thought they were comfortable and wore them a lot, but didn't realize how wonderful they were. With this pregnancy, I started wearing them everyday in the fourth month and have had a wonderful pregnanacy. They support my feet exactly were needed, I even have orthodics and they are not nearly as comfortable as my Olowahu's. As a matter of fact, we have gone to many zoo's with my 2 year old this year and my husband is always concerned that I am wearing flip flops instead of tennis shoes. But then at the end of the day, when I am not complaining he knows why..

If you ever come out with shoes besides flip flops that have the mushy sole, please let me know as I would be sure to purchase them.. Thanks for helping me deal with my pregnancy without being miserable.

Sincerely,

Kim

Hungry for Teva's

We thought you would like to see how much our 6 month old loves her Teva's. They are still a little big for her. She loves them so much she tries to eat them.
