Our Passion

There’s a lot of talk these days about cause-related marketing and corporate outreach. It seems like every few months there is a new “it” cause out there, but at Teva, we’re a bit of an anomaly, because we’ve been supporting the same cause since our inception 25 years ago: water.

Where you find water, you find life. It’s a simple philosophy, but it relates to a fundamental truth of this world. Ever since we were born on the Colorado River in 1984, we’ve felt a deeply ingrained connection to water. That’s why, for the past quarter century, we’ve been working to improve quality of life through water quality and availability initiatives all over the world. Whether we’ve been working on our own or with charity organizations, we’ve been blessed with incredible clarity of purpose over the years. Here are just a couple of the incredible partners who share our passion:

Non-profits

Waterkeeper Alliance

Waterkeeper Alliance is a global network of 182 member programs dedicated to cleaning up rivers, lakes and coasts through grassroots advocacy and legal action. Waterkeeper programs patrol and protect more than 67,000 miles of rivers, streams and coastlines, and represent the interests of more than 200,000 members. In 2008, as part of the launch of the "Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk" 3D IMAX® film, Teva® and Waterkeeper Alliance launched a national cleanup tour of local waterways in 10 regions across the United States. In 2010 and beyond, we will continue our support in partnership with local Waterkeeper programs around the world.

Conservation Next

Teva® is a longstanding member of the Conservation Alliance, a group of outdoor businesses whose collective contributions support grassroots campaigns to protect threatened wild places for their habitat and recreation values. The Conservation Alliance launched ConservationNEXT in August, 2008 to connect individuals in the outdoor industry with the work of organizations that receive financial support from the Alliance. ConservationNEXT.com provides people with opportunities to take online action in support of conservation at www.conservationnext.com, and on-the-ground action through a series of regional volunteer events. In March of 2010, Teva partnered with local companies Patagonia and Horny Toad on a cleanup of the Ventura River in which we removed 4 tons of trash.

How we Walk the Walk

In addition to these partnerships, we have been working to consider and minimize the environmental impact of our business at every turn. Along with our sister brands: UGG Australia, Simple Shoes, TSUBO and Ahnu, we have made responsibility and honesty a pillar of our business. In fact, we have an entire team of eco-ninjas that are dedicated to infusing responsibility and sustainability at every level of our organization. In the end, we want to make shoes that help you see the world, but not at the cost of making it a world that you don’t want to see.
