A lot of people ask why we named our original rubber compound after one of the creepiest creatures on the planet. In response, we ask them if they’ve ever seen a cute puppy climb up a completely vertical, soaking wet rock. No? We rest our case.

Comments about Omnium Leather:

I got this product because my new medication is causing my feet to sweat drastically more than normal, and as a result closed shoes have become my enemy number one. However I needed something that would still be appropriate to wear to mass and business events, while providing excellent ventilation and with no need for socks in order to cut down on the sweat factor. This shoe seems to be the perfect compromise, don't be fooled however- they breathe better than closed shoes but they are no flip flop- still gets toasty when active indoors. If I could improve the product with one adjustment I would add a microban zinc coating to help cut down on the odor- though they DO clean rather easily.

Comments about Omnium Leather:

These are excellent shoes for the outdoors. I take mine camping because leaving them unsnapped makes getting them and off to in the tent a breeze. TEVA says you shouldn't use the Ominium Leather in the water, but I've taken them kayaking and to creek. They dry and drain very quickly and the leather is still in good shape despite numerous dousings and submersions. They're very comfortable for hiking too as I found out on a recent camping trip when I did an impromptu hike around the lake. I thought I might get blisters, but these shoes were great.

My one complaint about them (and my wife's too) is that the bottoms of your feet will sweat and begin to smell, but since I can't smell very well, it doesn't bother me too much.

Get a pair and I know you will be satisfied

    Comments about Omnium Leather:

With consumer products designed for mass appeal, it isn't often that a company provides exactly what you want. Teva's variety is sufficient to serve a variety of tastes, but they hit the mark for me with the Omnium Leathers. I have found them to be durable, comfortable, and stylish. They are great to wear with jeans, shorts, or even kaki's if you want a casual look. The four-way custom adjustments mean they fit my foot perfectly and I think that would be the case with most people. The solid snap buckle makes for extremely easy on and off. If I get them dirty, a quick spray with the hose and no one ever knew the difference. One of best shoes I've ever owned. I've thought about buying a dozen in case Teva ever stopped making them, but since the pair I've had for over a year shows no wear, "one" extra pair may last my whole life.

    • Omnium Leather

      Q:

Two previous questioners asked the same question about whether there's an anti-microbial; but one Teva Product specialists answered yes while the other answered no. Which is it?
Asked on 7/3/2014 by KS from New York, NY

      1 answer

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

There is an anti-microbbial on the footbed of the Omnium, but it is not our normal "Microban" that we normally use, because of the microfiber topsole.

    • Omnium Leather

      Q:

Hi, I have a Teva S/N 1001116, which actually looks more like your Dozier shoe. The Omnium looks like it has a higher instep than the Dozier. I'd buy the Dozier but it is out of stock, so I'm thinking of buying the Omnium. Both Dozier and Omnium have a back-strap, and this is important to me because I always wear orthotics and the back-strap keeps them from slipping out the back. So my question is this: is the footbed of the Omnium similar to that of the Dozier as far as instep? Or, more importantly, which is most similar to S/N 1001116.
Asked on 3/5/2014 by RK from San Diego

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

Yes, the Omnuim has a very similar shoe last to the Dozer. Both offer great arch supprot and comfort. They also are the most similar styles to the Forebay, model 1001116.

      Q:

Would I have any issues with this sandal if I were, from time to time, be walking at the shore in ankle depth water? Would I be damaging the sandal materials at all?
      Asked on 6/27/2013 by Steve

      1 answer

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

The leather is not waterproof and can be damaged from excessive exposure to water. To help minimize this, rinse in clear water after exposure to salt water and allow them to air dry out of direct heat or sunlight. The use of a leather conditioner as needed is also recommended.
