      Comments about De La Vina:

Purchased these end of season for 2 week trip to wet/ snowy destination. Wore for travel (easy off for security check) and did not pack other footwear to conserve luggage space. Stylish with leggings, skinny jeans and casual skirts/dresses. Love this boot!! I did add an arch insert as I do for all my shoes.

        Comments about De La Vina:

I have two bad knees and walking is painful. Wore these boots right out of the box on my first day of a recent trip to Ireland and continued to wear them every single day for the rest of the two week trip. These boots handled cobblestones, cliffs, wet weather, cities, and pubs. They look great, feel great, and I am looking forward to buying another pair in black.

        Comments about De La Vina:

I wear these every day! They are perfect for my 3 mile bike rides to and from campus. I got them because it rains often where I live and I wanted shoes that I could wear that are waterproof, but don't look like clunky rain boots! I can wear these to class, work, and for presentations. The best part is, I don't have to bring a separate pair of shoes to school with me. These really are an all-in-one kind of boot!

        • De La Vina

          Q:

Would the use of Mink Oil be recommended? If not, what other compound would you recommend for leather care/waterproofing?
Asked on 10/14/2014 by Ed from Augusta, Ga

          1 answer

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

Our leather boots can be cleaned and protected with products that are designed for use on leather or nubuck. Treat the footwear annually with a non-silicone based water and stain repellant specifically designed for suede. A non-silicone spray prevents clogging the leather pores.

The description says there is a folded panel, but I can't see it? can you explain that? Thanks!
Asked on 4/11/2014 by New to Teva from MA

          1 answer

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

The folded panel is at the top of the shaft of the boot. You can see it from the picture view of the top of the boot (looks down into the boot) This allows the calf to open more for veritilty of different sized calves.

          Q:

I live in Wisconsin, where my boots contact lots of salt and snow. Should I use a silicone-based leather treatment, or an oil-based treatment? Or is there some other kind of leather conditioner for this particular leather? Any recommendations on brands and treatment methods?

          Thank you!

I see that you recommend treating the leather annually. Do you recommend treating them before even wearing them (new)? I want to try to prevent those awful winter salt stains.
