Down the hill, through the mud pit and under the barbed wire. And that’s just obstacle #1. The TevaSphere Speed was inspired by the unpredictable world of Obstacle Races and the athletes that are crazy enough to take them on. It features our TevaSphere technology that uses a spherical heel and support pods to improve your stride, reduce impact and promote stability on unpredictable terrain – which obstacle races have in spades. Throw in quick dry materials, a lightweight design and a grippy sole and you’ll be able to cross “shoes” off your list of things to worry about for your next race.
- Our TevaSphere outsole uses a spherical heel with two support pods to give you lightweight minimalism without sacrificing stability.
- A nylon shank keeps the foot stable and in control.
- Our Spider365 rubber is made to grip like crazy in wet environments.
- Quick dry materials will keep you from getting bogged down.
- Synthetic and Mesh Upper.

Comments about Tevasphere Speed:
I'm and avid trail runner and I also do a lot of hiking. I currently have about 60 miles on a pair of TevaSphere Speed shoes. I wasn't sure what to expect at first. I thought the support pods might feel a little strange and bulky, but I was pleasantly surprised the first time I went for a run in them. They are very light compared to the running shoes I usually wear. The rounded heal is awesome and the pods provide good support without being bulky. I usually run from my house to the trail and I have to run a short distance on paved surfaces to get to the trails. These shoes certainly feel better equipped for trails than they do pavement. I wouldn't recommend them for road running, but I would highly recommend them for trail running. They also do quite well as a light hiking shoe. They do feel a little bigger than my usual running shoes. I typically wear a size 11 and I ended up with a 10.5 in these shoes. I would highly recommend that you try the shoes on before you buy. Other than that, they are awesome shoes!

Comments about Tevasphere Speed:
The best thing about these shoes is of course the rounded heel. It is a little bit smaller than the regular square heel, but still provides enough shock absorption. Another plus is side support. It strange that no one came up with this idea of supports pods on the sides earlier. Shoes are very stable on rocky trails and also very comfortable on regular pavement. At the same time you don't really notice that anything is different, there's no annoying pressure from the sides. Sturdy material, easy to wash and dries up very quickly. This is the first pair of shoes that I didn't have to wear in before they actually feel comfortable. They were fine from the very first run. I also like raised toe section and rubber nose.

Comments about Tevasphere Speed:
Im a big runner, and i have a unique type of stride. I need some stability, but i dont heel strike so many shoes are made with big heels that bug me. I like this because it is a good mix that works really well for me. The downside is the upper feels cheep and folds in on the top of the toes sometimes painfully. I would recommend to people in my same situation or to give a try for fun as a part-time shoe

Q:
Please tell me the weight of the Tevasphere Speed and the weight of the Teveasphere Event (I can't find it in your online specs). Typically, I do not like "waterproof" trail shoes. Is the Event a non-waterproof version of the Trail? Is there a cushioning difference between the two? Do either have a rock plate?Asked on 3/4/2013 by Big Time Mountain Trail Runner1 answer

A:
The Tevasphere Speed weighs a light 9.2 oz per shoe, and the Tevasphere Trail eVent® weighs in at 12.2 oz per shoe. *These weights are based on a size 9 and will vary with size. The Tevasphere Trail eVent® features our breathable eVent® membrane which keeps water out and also wicks sweat away from your feet, keeping them dry and cool. The Tevasphere Speed is not waterproof but is made of quick-drying materials. Both styles have a lightweight compression molded EVA insole for comfort. The Tevasphere styles do not have rock plates in the soles.Answered on 3/5/2013 by Teva Product Specialist
