At the Teva Mountain Games, we watched tons of riders in skate shoes struggling up the hill after their rides. Right then, we decided to bring our PedalLINK Outsole technology to the iconic vulc style. The result is the Crank Mid, a vulc-style sneaker with grip features meant specifically for biking.

Spider 365™
One rubber, huge range of uses. Spider365 Rubber is the spork of our rubber arsenal.
Mush® Infused Insole
Now we're not necessarily splicing Mush® genes back in the T.I.D.E Lab to build a hybrid mutant insole, but we do have an insole that’s worthy of the Mush name.
Pedlamp™
Slipping off your pedal can be painful … and really, really awkward. To prevent that, we worked with our team of professional freeride bikers to develop the PedalLINK outsole. It was designed to link up with the pegs of your pedal to keep your foot in place and in control. On top of that, it's got lugs at the toe and heel to help you get around when you're off your bike.

Comments about Crank Mid:
Super solid grippy skate-style shoe. I use it for downhill mountain biking, BMX, and dirt jumping, and the performance is top-notch. Fairly grippy outsole, but not so grippy that you feel clipped in. I like I little bit of wiggle room. I've had the shoes for about 3 months and the only rip was on the logo tag on the tongue. I would very much have liked the insole to be easily removable (feels like I would have to rip it out), so that you could clean out dirt easier. I use these shoes when digging bike trails and jumps, and a removable insole is vital when getting down in the dirt. Other than that, solid, good-looking shoe.

Q:
Can this be used in the rain? How water proof this Crand Mid is? I mean, not that I'd think that it could be worn underwater but my question is more related to biking over ponds and when it is raining.Asked on 12/11/2012 by John Terrell1 answer

Q:
would this shoe handle well under brakeless bmx riding where the shoe is often used as the brake?Asked on 9/18/2012 by kolbi from Canada1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The Crank is designed with a PedalLINK outsole to specifically interface with the unique platform of a bike pedal. It is not designed for being used as a brake, and this can be damaging to the sole construction.Answered on 9/25/2012 by Teva Product Specialist
