It’s lighter than most boots you’ll find, but still has 200g of Thinsulate™ insulation to keep you warm and White Spider Rubber grip to keep you on your feet.

3M Thinsulate™ Insulation

3M Thinsulate™ Insulation

There's a lot of things to love about winter. The loss of all sensation in your feet isn't one of them (hopefully). But with 3M Thinsulate™ insulation, that's one part of winter you won't have to deal with thanks to the years of research that 3M has conducted in the field of foot-warmth-ology.

White Spider™

White Spider™

When it’s cold out, most rubber hardens up and loses its flexibility, turning your shoes into ice skates. White Spider Rubber was made to stay soft and flexible in freezing temperatures, leaving the ice-skating to the pros.

    Comments about Bormio:

I am pretty much in love with these boots. I got them for daily wear in a cold and icy northern city. They feel like they were made for my foot. The upper is great laced up all the way, done up loosely, pants tucked in, or pants over the top. They are the perfect boot.... almost. After wearing them in cold, but dry conditions for a week or so, I wore them to do a little minor shoveling and got wet toes. I like these boots so much I continue to wear them and freeze my toes off every day when they get wet. Not only are they not water-proof, they seem to be the opposite- meaning they attract water, absorb it where the rubber toe meets the leather upper, and send it down the insulation to the toes and sole.
Like I said, I love these boots- that's why they get 3 stars. Any other boot would get 1 star for leaking. I mean, that's really all that is needed in a winter boot, and one that does leak is pretty useless. If these weren't essentially worthless due to leakage they would get 5 stars.
They are a good idea, and I hope you improve them in the future. Also, I like their feel so much I would buy a hiking boot modeled on these with a minimalist sole. That would be the perfect boot.

    Comments about Bormio:

I've never written an online review before but really felt I had to about these boots.

I searched a long time for something lightweight and stylish that I could wear to and at work, then out for dinner etc., all day if needed, in bad weather. I found these and when they arrived, I thought they were great; a perfect fit, unbelievably comfortable, and very, very lightweight for a warm winter boot. Totally happy!

Had them for a while before I had the chance to wear them and when I did, I noticed when I was walking on the train platform, and then anywhere inside, they squeak – just like a cheap rubber boot. It's not the soles on the ground that squeak, it's the actual boot top and sides on the foot top. I tried loosening the laces, then tightening, no change. I walked around my office all day squeaking, followed by a night out - luckily in a noisy bar at first - but then in a somewhat quite restaurant where I basically tip-toed around.

I'm very disappointed in these since they really are very good looking and comfortable for a winter boot. Sadly, they can't be returned so now they'll be relegated to snow shoveling boots, which I didn't need another pair of and was not the point of the purchase.
