    Comments about Riva Mesh:

I bought this shoe based on the reviews i read..and also because i owned the eVent ones also - which i returned because they made my feet sweat too much here in southern california mountains near Malibu. These shoes were listed by many as being a little small and i go between a 12 to 12 1/2 so i opted for the 13 and it fit perfect esp with one pair of socks..and even with high tech thin to thicker wool socks.

What i really enjoyed the most was the durability and the fantastic comfort due to the Vibram soles.. which even after 15-20 miles hikes 3x a week that i hike on hard dirt and rock packed trails.. they never make my feet feel any pain. This is probably one of the best pair of hiking shoes ive owned that also allow your feet to breath properly..and best part is that the tan color is ideal for the dusty trails here so the shoe still looks good after 1 year of hard wear. Only complaint is that i wish they made better inserts that were thicker but that is an easy fix since i sweat so much i put in a gel padded one that is washable. I give them a 5 star...and will probably buy another pair on sale since i want to have an extra one in case they stop making them.

      Comments about Riva Mesh:

I tried on competitors' and couldn't find the comfort of the tevas. i wear them everyday, all day and my feet are always comfortable. I like that the shoe has some weight but doesn't feel clunky or heavy. It easily accommodates the orthotic that I wear. My last pair gave me great service over many many months. Wouldn't wear anything else, and very good value to boot (ha).

        Comments about Riva Mesh:

These are great for hiking in the woods, they have excellent traction and stability. Because they are light and comfortable, they are equally perfect for all-day walks in the city or hiking in the mountains.
One recommendation on sizing - they should be true to your size, but when they are brand-new, you may feel like your big toe is touching (ie you may think they are too small) - it goes away after a wear or two, they mould to your feet and fit perfectly.
It's the second time I order these, and I couldn't be happier with them. Highly recommend!

          Q:

How would this shoe work without socks? Not being waterproof I'm concerned that socks will get wet and be uncomfortable. Thanks

          Q:

Another question: how well do these drain water? I'm looking to use them for multi-day backpacking, and want to reduce weight by using the same shoe for hiking as well as river crossing, etc. I am leaning towards a trail runner, but I like the fit of Teva shoes.

          Thanks!

          Q:

How much does each shoe weigh? I'd be wearing size 11.5 most likely, but even a ballpark figure would do, even if it's for a different size (size 8, 9, etc.). Thanks!

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

Each shoe weighs approximately 15 oz. This is based on a size 9 and will vary with size.

            A:

Machine washing your shoes can be damaging to the components and we do not recommend it. These can be hand washed using a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and let air dry out of direct sunlight.
