Spider Original™

Spider Original™

A lot of people ask why we named our original rubber compound after one of the creepiest creatures on the planet. In response, we ask them if they’ve ever seen a cute puppy climb up a completely vertical, soaking wet rock. No? We rest our case.

Shoc Pad™

Shoc Pad™

You wouldn't ride a bike without a seat. The same logic applies for our Shoc Pad™ technology, which will give you a smooth ride without inhibiting your performance.

Comments about Omnium:

I live in NWPA and I wear this shoe every single day from the time the weather gets warm enough until the time the weather becomes to cold. I have had one pair of these and have been wearing them for 3-4 years. I wear them canoeing, hiking, biking, gardening, camping, etc... The only time I don't wear the show is when I'm doing something such as splitting wood or weed eating. My only complaint is that the sole of the shoe has come off and I need to continue to gluing the sole back on, but I have read that they have fixed this problem.

    Comments about Omnium:

Got these in time for my trip to Honduras in June 2013 and they're almost all I wore (beach, light hiking, strolling on the strip, on the plane, out for dinner, etc.). So versatile, good looking, well-designed and comfortable (I've a typical medium-width foot with slightly flat arches), sizing was accurate (I always wear a men's 10.5 shoe and that's what I bought) and they don't look clunky like some closed-toe sandals. A little stiff to get on and off at first without unfastening the straps until you break them in, but they have 3 different ways to adjust/unfasten the top/back straps, which is so great. Quality seems pretty good. Re the issue Teva had a few years ago about the soles coming apart, I phoned Teva before buying them and they acknowledged the problem existed at one time but said it was rectified some time ago. I see no evidence of the problem and the sole seems to wear well. Shoe companies have a tendency to discontinue a good thing, so I like them so much I got another pair this year in another color in case they do. I highly recommend these.

    Comments about Omnium:

I have had a few pairs of these because I truly like its design and fit. Good heel support makes these more versatile than other trekking sandals.

Unfortunately, I have had delamination issues with the sole due to bad adhesive manufacturing.

    • Omnium

      Q:

Do the Teva shoes kill foot scent? My friend and I bought the other brand and had to throw them away after using for about a month because of the foot odor.

        A:

Some of our shoes contain the Microban® zinc-based anti-microbial treatment, which keeps the stink down. If the product has this treatment, you will see it listed in the product details.

Is it ok for beach wear? Im looking for a little coverage/sun protection

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

Yes! These would work just fine for beach wear. We would recommend rinsing the mesh in cold water after the beach to avoid any unwanted chafing from sand. Be sure to dry naturally out of direct sunlight. Enjoy the beach!

      Q:

I'm in the need of a water/hiking shoe for a AT thru hike. I have a primary pair of hiking shoes, but I'm looking for a shoe to wear when crossing streams and also to use for camp. Would the Omnium dry out quicker compared to the Omnium Leather? Also, I noticed the Leather version weighs less (11.6 oz versus 12.2)Seems like the leather version would weigh more?

      Thank you - Gary
Asked on 7/26/2013 by Gary from Utica, IL.

      1 answer

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

Hi Gary! With our Spider Original Rubber and open construction the Omnium is a great choice for traversing those slippery rocks. And you're correct, the leather version does weigh more and has a longer drying time than the synthetic. Enjoy the AT!

    • Omnium

      Q:

What's the best way to clean these when they start to smell?
Asked on 7/23/2013 by John from Cincinnati

      1 answer

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

We recommend hand washing using an antibacterial soap. Using a bristled brush, scrub the topsole from heel to toe under water pressure to wash away any dirt that may be in the grooves. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry out of direct sunlight. This should take care of any smelly shoe issues!
*We do not recommend using a washing machine as this is damaging to the components.
