The Teva Adventure series is a great way to get In 2 Adventure racing. It's all about getting into the outdoors, challenging yourself, and having a great day out! It's as competitive or as fun as you like to make it, and the essential items on the kit list include a sense of adventure and a sense of fun!

If you're new to adventure racing or a complete novice, then this is a great event to start with. It's a lot of fun and you'll be able to practice important adventure racing skills such as team work, communication, coping with the unexpected and basic navigation.

Your Team
First of all find yourself 2 like minded team mates, as the races is designed for teams of 3 to compete together in a fun adventure race sprint.

Team categories are:
Premier Mixed (Male & Female);
Male; and
Female.

The Course
The course consists of 20 - 25km of mountain bike riding, 8 - 12 km of trail running / trekking, basic navigation and an team challenges along the way to add to the fun.

The team challenges are great fun, and a major component of each event.. It isn't just about how fast you can run or ride, but also about how well you can work together as a team and think outside the usual nine dots. Challenges are a surprise at each race event and could be anything from building a raft, solving a puzzle, or slithering your way through a muddy tunnel maze.

Teams are issued a course booklet and map on the morning of the event and have about an hour to plan their strategy. The first teams are expected to cross the finish line in about 2 and a half hours, with the 'lets have fun' competitors who choose to walk the trekking sections finishing in around 5 to 6 hours.

Navigation
Basic navigation skills are required, and most of the checkpoints can be reached on tracks and trails.

Equipment
You will receive a final list of items you will need to bring to the event five days prior to the race. As a guide you will need a mountain bike, bike helmet, and something to carry water in. (hydration pack or small back pack with water bottles). For more about equipment click here.

Celebrate
At the end of the race there's a BBQ, prize giving (including heaps of spot prizes) and a great chance to celebrate and share your war stories with other adventurers.
