Teva Introduces the Karnali Wraptor
Goleta, CA (August 1, 2006) – Revolution is in the air at Teva (a division of Deckers Outdoor Corporation NASDAQ: DECK) headquarters in Goleta, CA. The leading outdoor footwear brand announced today the introduction of their 2007 Spring Footwear line that brings to life the Karnali Wraptor.
Revolutionary design, uncompromising fit – Teva's new Karnali Wraptor brings unparalleled performance to the world of sport sandals. Patent-pending Drain Frame technology allows water to drain through the midsole, while Wraptor Fit Technology ensures a stable, secure ride wherever your adventures lead you.
The new patent-pending Drain Frame Technology provides exceptional ventilation and drainage. How does it work? The TPU Drain Frame platform wraps around the midsole creating anchor points that integrate into the upper strapping system allowing your foot to securely lock onto the bottom unit. This unique fit provides unparalleled stability without a weight penalty. Simultaneously, a series of drainage ports allow water to escape directly though the bottom of the shoe. A layer of monofilament mesh prevents debris from entering the bottom of the shoe, while still permitting water to drain out. Additionally, Drain Frame provides ventilation, to ensure maximum comfort in even the hottest environments.

The Karnali Wraptor also attained international attention when it received the award for design excellence at the Friedrichschafen OutDoor show in Germany on July 23rd. Some 153 entries from 21 different nations submitted for the award, sponsored by Messe Friedrichshafen in conjunction with the OutDoor 2006 trade fair (July 23–26). Conceived and organized by iF International Forum Design, this competition is dedicated to promoting outstanding design in the outdoor sector. An international jury of experts bestowed a total of 34 awards, including one Gold and six Silver Awards, for outstanding design achievements.
