Teva rolls up their sleeves for the Isla Vista Youth Project

Santa Barbara, CA (November 15, 2005) – Deckers Outdoor Corporation, owner of the footwear brands Teva, Simple, and UGG Australia, will be hosting their bi-annual sales meeting this week in Santa Barbara, California. Representatives from all over the world will be traveling to this part of the country to learn more about the brands up and coming product, marketing initiatives and inspiration for the next season ahead.

In an effort to give back to the community that has been hospitable to the company over the years, representatives from the Teva division will be coming together on Saturday, November 19th at 2:30pm to work with the staff at the Isla Vista Youth Projects. All employees of Deckers are encouraged to pitch in and roll up their sleeves for an afternoon of weeding, sanding, digging, painting, cleaning and service at the IVYP Children's Center.

The Isla Vista Youth Projects, Inc. was founded in 1971 in response to the lack of local youth services for children residing in this community. Poverty, juvenile delinquency, changing family patterns, unsupervised children and a lack of family support services are among some of the issues impacting Isla Vista children. The Youth Projects began as, and remains, the only private, community-based organization addressing the recreation, social and educational needs of the children living in Isla Vista.
