Sport:Freeride Mountain Biker
A fixture in the world of Freeride Mountain Biking since its inception, Cam McCaul is known for both his amazing ability on the bike and his hilarious antics off of it. Once, someone stole his bike, so Cam tracked the guy down, confronted him and stole it back. All on camera, of course.
Get to know Cam:
TEVA: Got any nicknames?
CM: Not really.
TEVA: Really? How about we give you one now? How about……Cam “El Toe?”
CM: …I don’t think so.
TEVA: Okay, good call. That wasn’t our best effort. How’d you first get into Freeride?
CM: I loved motorcycles; I loved BMX bikes. And then when I discovered MTB it seemed like the best thing ever!
TEVA: And when did you decide to go pro?
CM: It was less of a decision and more of a “Wow, look at this! I guess I’m pro!”
TEVA: So what’s on your trophy shelf so far?
CM: A couple Crankworx Colorado trophies (’07,’11), two Bearclaw Invitational medals (’06, ’07), two 26Trix big checks (’06, ’10) a District Ride plaque (’06), and some other cool things.
TEVA: What’s one piece of gear you couldn’t live without?
CM: Definitely a helmet.
TEVA: What’s the coolest place Freeride has taken you?
CM: Punta San Carlos, Mexico. Not the craziest place, but probably my favorite.
